Sony: EA Access isn't 'good value'

Electronic Arts announced a new EA Access program for Xbox One yesterday, enabling gamers to sign up for a subscription and earn discounts on forthcoming games, as well as check out select free titles on a monthly basis. The new service was notably absent from PlayStation 4, however, and Sony has shed light on why.
The company confirmed that it passed on the opportunity to provide EA Access on its PlayStation 4 console.
"We evaluated the EA Access subscription offering and decided that it does not bring the kind of value PlayStation customers have come to expect," Sony told Game Informer. "PlayStation Plus memberships are up more than 200 percent since the launch of PlayStation 4, which shows that gamers are looking for memberships that offer a multitude of services, across various devices, for one low price. We don't think asking our fans to pay an additional $5 a month for this EA-specific program represents good value for the PlayStation gamer."
EA Access is currently in beta on Xbox One, and will launch sometime in the next few weeks.
