Ever since Valve wrapped up Left 4 Dead 2 a few years ago for Xbox 360, fans have been wondering when they could kill a whole bunch of zombies again with their friends. According to a former employee of the company, it's may not be too far off.
Minh Le, the co-creator of Counter-Strike, spoke with goRGNtv about various subjects, but did confirm that he caught the third chapter of the zombie killing series in action. "It wouldn't be any news if I said yes, I saw it. It looks great."
"So I was really excited when I saw that. I was like, 'Wow, this looks great.' I really enjoyed Left 4 Dead," he continued. "It was just one of those games that really changed the industry because I think at the time there weren't too many good co-op games, so it was like, 'Yeah, this is a great co-op game.'"
That does leave a question of who's developing it, as the team that formerly worked on that series, Turtle Rock Studios, has since taken on the new Evolve project for 2K Games. Le offered no hints.
However, when it came to Half-Life 3, he did let by a little teaser. "There's like a laser sight on my head right now," he stated. "I don't know if I can talk about that, to be honest. I think it's kind of public knowledge that people know that it is being worked on.
"So if I were to say I've seen some images, like some concept art of it, that wouldn't be big news. But I guess I could say that I did see something that looked like kind of like in the Half-Life universe. It wouldn't surprise anyone if I said, 'Yeah, they're working on it.' So, I mean, to go out on a limb, I would say yeah, I did see some concept art for Half-Life 3. Somebody's knocking on my door right now (laughs), it seems like old news. I think everyone kind of knows that it's being worked on."
For the time being, Le has turned attention to his latest project, a free-to-play shooter for Steam called Tactical Intervention.
