You're bringing one of your biggest franchises from video game machines to the silver screen, a tense, tactical techno-thriller--who do you turn to for help? Why, Michael Bay of course! Ubisoft today announced that the Transformers and Bad Boys director is helping develop Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon for a Hollywood movie, together with Warner Bros.
"Having one of Hollywood's boldest feature film directors attached to bringing Ghost Recon to the big screen is a dream come true for us," Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet said. Bay won't necessarily direct any movie that might eventually arise from this, mind. And it does fit the increasingly explode-y, bang-bang pew-pew progression of the series, doesn't it?
"And with Warner Bros. unmatched track record of successfully producing, marketing and distributing big movies from the industry's top talents, we think this project has huge potential."
Ubisoft Motion Pictures also has Assassin's Creed and Tom Clancy's Splinter movies in the works.
