Star Wars: Battlefront announced by EA

Oh how much gnashing of teeth there was after LucasArts cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront 3, from fans and makers alike. But the boldly-going Battlefield-style shooter will live long and hopefully prosper after EA picked up the Star Wars license, as the publisher today announced it's working on its own Star Wars: Battlefront game.
It's being built on the Frostbite 3 engine by DICE, though that name means less than it once did. It's probably being made by the new DICE studio in Los Angeles which EA set up to work on Star Wars games, rather than the original DICE in Sweden responsible for Battlefield.
We really don't know anything about the game. EA showed a CG trailer. It had snow and Star Wars things. One imagines it'll follow the usual fun of letting Rebel and Empire forces duke it out on big maps with vehicles and whatnot, because why bother if not?
Given how early in development this must be, expect it for next-gen consoles. And probably PC.
Free Radical's stab at Battlefront 3 was "pretty much done" when LucasArts axed it, co-founder Steve Ellis claimed last year. Several hours of footage from a leaked build have surfaced over the years, but it had seemed the world at large would never get to play another Battlefront.
