New Jagged Alliance coming from Space Hulk dev

A new Jagged Alliance is in the works at Full Control, the foks behind turn-based tactics 'em up Frontline Tactics and the upcoming Space Hulk. The Danish studio announced today that it has licensed the turn-based tactical mercenary series from owner bitComposer to make and publish a new multiplatform game.

"Jagged Alliance fits perfectly into our company strategy and portfolio as the game to do after we ship Space Hulk. It is one of the 3 games besides X-Com and Fallout that really defined the entire genre and is part of our DNA," Full Control CEO Thomas Lund said in the announcement.

"We are honored and excited to have been the confidence given by bitComposer to give the series a fresh new take whilst staying true to the core mechanics."

The first Jagged Alliance game (pictured above) launched in 1994, followed by a string of sequels and expansions. The series returned after a short break in 2012 with Jagged Alliance: Back in Action by Coreplay, which went a bit real-time-y. In Full Control's own words, Back in Action "received mixed reactions from the community and press after its departure from turn-based action gameplay." Expect Full Control to be more faithful to the originals, then.

"Multiplatform" doesn't necessarily mean consoles, mind. Full Control is planning iOS and Android releases of Space Hulk as well as PC and Mac, and Jagged Alliance could work too.
