Today at EA's Summer Showcase, the company formally announced Madden NFL 13 for the Wii U. As you might expect, it will use the system's GamePad for a variety of easy touch features to help with menu and play selection.

You'll be able to pick your plays using the GamePad, and make quick pre-play adjustments just before the snap. If you want to dig into the nitty-gritty of football strategy, you'll be able to draw custom hot-routes for your players too. Besides these special features, the Wii U version seems identical to the other console versions, with the same new features touted on those versions. It will be available at the Wii U launch, the date of which is still unannounced.
