PS3 players were not happy when it was announced that Xbox 360 would get the Hearthfire DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim before they got their version of Dawnguard. Now Bethesda has admitted that the problems it is having with the PS3 version of the vampire lord DLC may not be fixable. Read more

Capcom is treating nostalgianoids to a double-bill of ye olde fightinge games next month, announcing today that Marvel vs. Capcom Origins will arrive for download on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 25 and 26 respectively. $15 will get you tarted-up versions of the classic Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, which seems fair for an afternoon of reliving your youth before the terrible realisation that you are so very old sinks in. Killing people is pretty important in Assassin's Creed III, it turns out, so Ubisoft has put a lot of work into the open-world murder simulator's killification. A new video developer diary features chaps from the fields of game design, animator, fight choreography, history, and, ah, military re-enactment all talking about killing those blasted lobsterbacks in the American Revolution. Deathmatch is about the least interesting of all competitive multiplayer modes Aliens: Colonial Marines could offer, yet the first revealed. It's nice, then, that Gearbox and Sega today announced the objective-driven 'Escape.' The 4v4 mode sees marines fleeing various bad places, while the aliens try to scupper their plans. Yes, like Left 4 Dead's Versus mode. Read more

There have been several attempts at a Metal Gear Solid movie over the years, and one terrifying prank involving Uwe Boll, but one's properly in production now at Columbia Pictures. Avi Arad, who's produced every Marvel comic book movie of the past two decades--both good and bad--is attached, and quite enthusiastic. Read more
