Fallout creator Black Isle Studios was supposed to continue BioWare's RPG series Baldur's Gate a decade ago with a third core game, but that vanished soon after being announced. Years after the developer shut down, though, Baldur's Gate 3 almost happened again, at the studio founded by several Black Isle veterans, Obsidian Entertainment. Feargus Urquhart has revealed that it almost signed with Baldur's Gate owner Atari around 2007 to make BG3, but the deal fell apart. Read more

Metro: Last Light's hardcore 'Ranger Mode' difficulty setting "provides the definitive Metro experience," according to publisher THQ's creative strategist Huw Beynon. Yet it won't be included in the base game, oh no, rather you'll need to pre-order or buy it early to ensure you get a 'Limited Edition' copy. How awfully creative. Splash Damage today released the first gameplay trailer for its new FPS Dirty Bomb and, as you might expect, it does look an awful lot like the class-based, objective-driven antics of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Brink.
