When Nvidia announced its big goofy Android handheld Project Shield earlier in the month, it also quietly revealed Arma Tactics as one of its games. Developer Bohemia Interactive today formally announced that mobile game as a "turn-based close-combat strategy" affair, mentioning the XCOM and Jagged Alliance series as influences. It'll be available for other Nvidia Tegra-powered devices, mind, and may hit other platforms later too. Read more

Disney announced yesterday that it had closed down its Epic Mickey development house Junction Point Studios. Studio chief Warren Spector had been silent to that point other than a vague post on LinkedIn that he was unemployed. But Spector has finally spoken up via Facebook, saying that he still has plans for the future. Read more

The sim charges players with planning and running cities' transportation networks, and may introduce American audiences to exotic European concepts like "trains." Read more
