Creator Ragnar Tørnquist's Kickstarter campaign seeking $850,000 to conclude the trilogy with Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey has passed 90% of that goal in only one week, prompting the release of some prototype gameplay footage and the revelation of stretch goals. While Valve talks freely about some aspects of its work, the Steam and Half-Life creator is always tight-lipped about business. However, the flurry of speculation, rumour and doomsaying which sprung from news of layoffs at Valve has provoked a statement from head honcho Gabe Newell.
