You had surely already guessed this, being a sensible person with even a smidgen of awareness of how the video games industry works, but now it's confirmed: the PS3 and PS4 editions of Diablo III will not have cross-platform play with the PC original. When Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac co-creator Edmund McMillen describes a game as "by far the strangest project I've ever worked on," it's going to be unusual. After long weeks of teasing, Team Meat has revealed a little of what exactly mysterious cat 'em up Mew-Genics is, with McMillen describing it as "The Sims and Pokemon with a sprinkling of Animal Crossing and a dash of Tamagotchi." Blizzard has added a lot of snazzy features to StarCraft 2 in preparation for the expansion Heart of the Swarm, and yesterday dropped a new trailer demonstrating the shiny additions for multiplayer and eSports. Goodbye, epic matches being scrapped after one player crashes, and hello, players being able to step into the child-sized shoes of their heroes by recreating games from replays. Read more

Blizzard's surprise appearance at the Sony press conference last night revealed that Diablo 3 would be showing up on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, but no visuals were shown. Now, Blizzard has revealed three new images from the PS3 version. Read more
