StarCraft turns 15 today and, to celebrate the big day, Blizzard will hand out special retro portraits to StarCraft II players. The faces from the original game's box art, once so fiercesome and stunningly realistic but now a bit goofy and so plainly CG, can grace your SC profile if you play at least one online game in the next few weeks. Hotline Miami 2 to close series in early '90s

Delightful murder simulator Hotline Miami was never supposed to receive a sequel, so we should be jolly grateful that its planned DLC ended up morphing into one. But after that, developer Dennaton Games says, that's it. No more. It'll bow out murdering men in the early nineties then after that, you'll need to satisfy any head-stomping urges yourself. inXile and Obsidian sharing RPG tools and tech

Obsidian and inXile are awfully chummy, with a shared history going back to Interplay and Black Isle Studios and close enough that they want to lend members like a cup of sugar. Both Californian studios are making crowdfunded Unity-based old-school RPGs too, and so are putting their heads together. inXile today announced that they'll be collaborating on tools and tech with each other. Building up your own fleet of customised spaceships, recruiting crews, trading goods, and blowing the merry heck of enemy fleets in top-down tactical battles sounds pretty great. Divinity: Original Sin turns to Kickstarter for polish

Larian Studios announced Divinity: Original Sin in May 2012, and there was much rejoicing. Almost a year later, and after two years of actual development, it's shuffling back a little sheepishly to ask if maybe we could help pay for it. Larian wants $400,000 to apply a bold spit-shine to the RPG prequel, and is hoping we can crowdfund it. Read more

Broken Age debut trailer is lovely

Gosh, the artwork Double Fine used when revealing its crowdfounded adventure game as Broken Age was so nice, if only the game could actually look like that. Oh! My my, it actually does.
