If you remember Ikari Warriors then you more or less know exactly what your doing in this game. The camera is set behind the two joes and moves once you get so far. Works great until you want to wander in a different direction then you find yourself staring at rocks or trees instead of you.
The camera doesn't update fast enough so at times your shooting offscreen when you shouldn't be, when you backtrack to shoot someone behind you the camera does not switch around except in certain parts after you do something so you can move back to where you were.
The basic controls work well enough, though not exactly good. You move with the left stick, right stick does nothing unless your shooting at something at which point you can change targets. Target changing doesn't work very well however so your more or less stuck shooting at whatever you started shooting at until it goes away. The right trigger shoots, left trigger makes you duck/strafe. A button is for taking cover or rolling, B button is special attacks that recharge over time, X button is melee attacks and Y button is the catch all. Y button activates boost armor, enters vehicles and interacts with items like door controls.
You get two joes on each mission, RB is used to switch between which you only need when you are trying to open a special door, there are certain classes that are required to open each door, or switching joes in the middle of a mission, to open said special door.
You get vehicles, which control about as well as a flying brick. At least they have the old vehicles and people from the heyday of G.I. Joe, even have the rousing music from the cartoon.
Graphically weak, good enough to see everything and somewhat pick out who is who. Camera screws up the combat making it more of a hold the trigger down and try to avoid the bullets matter than anything else. Melee is practically broken because of the camera.
Rentable but only buyable if you are under 12 or a serious geek.
