I've been addicted to video games since Pong so how in the world came I be surprised? But it happens in almost every new game.

YES. By all means YES! Not enough game developers get the recognition they deserve. The movie industry is just starting to recognize writers, and you'd think that games should deserve more since games have multiple story paths (generally speaking).
I've always told myself that someday I'll create an Oscars of Gaming. Something that has more substance and less filler...one day.

That's what the Game of the Year title is for i guess. And all the trophies at the VGAs, but in my opinion, the people at the VGAs pick the winners terribly.
I'm sure that the developers and publishers have enough applaud by all the money they make =)

I do, certain games stick out more than most (Heavy Rain for example). I think games are underrated and overlooked by people that don't play them, and definitely deserve more credit.
