Can Ghostbusters save Movie Adaptions?

With nearly the entire cast coming back to reprise there roles, including those who have retired coming back because they where excited about it, written by the original writer/directors (Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd.) and all around looking like a kick-a$$ game.

Do you think Ghostbuster's can revitalize the Movie-adapted genre?
And rise like the few other movie games (Chronicles of Riddick: EfBB and Spiderman 2.)
Or is it just going to be another Transformers.

We'll have to see whether it sucks or not before measuring its impact on anything. Even if it is good, one or a handful of any type of game is not going to alter lazy developers. This console generation is awash with FPS and TPS games (to its detriment), but for every Gears of War or BioShock there's a clutch of bog-standard games stuck together without care or clue - the presence of greatness does not cause wholesale improvement.

It has the potential... my only worry is the amount of hype that it is getting. Overall it looks like a decent game. Graphically speaking, I think it looks good for each system. The wii has the cartoony feel which is nice, and the 360/PS3 have the prettier, more explosion friendly graphics. Voice work and script should be better than most movie games, but the overall fun factor is the only real thing in question. If the control scheme is well done and it plays similarly to other third person games that did well ... should be an ace in the hole. I'm really hoping it does well... The transformers game was obviously going to suck. Cars transforming and blowing stuff up. That's more or less the premise of it. This has a story more ... "believable" and entertaining in my opinion.

I don't think so. Its been a long time since there was a good movie adaptation put out into a game. Ghostbusters might be a good game but I just don't see it...
