i would get at lest 2/3 of pokemon in one game but i would never get all of the pokemon (i have better things too do) how many can you get before you move on?

Games: Pokemon Platinum (DS)
In Pokemon Diamond I saw 350 and obtained 254 before I stopped playing. I haven't played it for about a year now. (Thinking of buying Platinum version).
I also got very close to completing the Pokedex in Silver (I had like 8 to go), but then my brother restarted the game.

I do not think I ever got very lose to catching them all in any version. I actually never even got through the whole plot line except Yellow, Red, and Blue. Not that I do not still like the games, as I have owned almost every version, but before I beat it I ended up moving on to a newer version. Currently working on Pokemon Platinum, which this time I hope to actually beat the whole plot line of for the first time since the original three.
