Metroid: Other M is a combination of the old side-scrolling action, third-person fighting (like Ninja Gaiden), and first-person shooting (like Metroid Prime). You run around in third-person most of the time, but you have the option to move into first person whenever you want...all you have to do is point at the screen. You can't move while you are in first-person mode though. In third-person it feels a lot like a Ninja Gaiden game because of the way you dodge attacks, etc..
