Far Cry 3 is pretty good. I never really got that far into it, but it was very exciting. And I've actually heard that it's a loooooong game, so that could be a good (or bad) thing.

It's way better than Far Cry 2, which was garbage from my point of view. Give it a rent.

Im just 3 coop missions from having every achievment in it. i think its one of the best games ive played in recent years. be warned it can get pretty hard as you progress through the game you can run and gun your way thru but be prepared to die alot it more about playing tactical and using the erviroment to your advantage. the game is fantastic and very well done. the main story is 15 -20 hour long with collectables adding about 6 more hours to get there are close to 200 all together. there is a online pass needed to progress pass lvl 15 in coop/multi player. im only playing coop since the multiplayer portion does not intrest me. give it a try you will love the game or hate it but give it a hour or two to get going and figure out.
