Do you have enough space on your Hard Drive to play Red Dead Redemption?

Some PS3 games require you to install parts of them on your HDD. And this game isn't any different. It requires 600 MB of space, which isn't bad for me since i have 180GB left, but if you have a 40GB model, you might not have enough. Do you have enough space left? Do you wonder why PS3 does this while Xbox 360 doesn't? (I do)

The reason the PS3 requires games to be installed is the blu-ray drive and it's massive size..

The drive on the PS3 doesn't have the best seek times, which is inherent in the BD technology, with all that data, it takes longer for players to find it. Which is why all BD players have loading times. it's loading stuff into the memory to access it more quickly. same goes for the PS3.

while some games don't require an install (uncharted) what they do is make multiple copies of files that are going to accessed a lot on the disk to allow quicker seeking.

The 360 only has a DVD, which seek times are pretty good, since there not HUGE in the storage department, and it's a more mature medium which are quite fast (and noisier)

I would probably have to delete other installs off of my PS3 to make room, but I'm probably going to play RDR on 360.
