It's not really too close to Demon's Souls. It's more of a traditional JRPG. Strangely enough, you create your own character at the beginning of the game, but he or she is not the main character. The main characters are a set group, but they eventually meet your created character, who is the character you use in multiplayer. The MP is somewhat MMO-like, kind of like Guild Wars where you meet other players in a hub, then go out and do missions in instanced areas. The co-op elements get you items and stuff you can use in the single player, as well as Georama parts to build up your created character's home town (it's made by the same team that did Dark Cloud). It's a pretty cool idea, but there are quite a few technical and pacing problems with it. I'd say it's worth a rental.
