Really depends on what you're looking for. Currently it is backwards compatible, which is great since there still aren't too many wii u games out. We brought if out for the kids to play at a family party. To be honest it was mostly the adults who played with it. The younger children were not interested and/or had problems using the controller. It's definitely enjoyable in its own right. Though we only play it as often as we did the original wii. So keep in mind your previous usage when trying to determine if the price tag is worth the entertainment you receive.
