Is it a chose your own adventure type game like the walking Dead game where your choices effect how the story plays out since I found I really enjoyed that style of game alot more then I expected to, was that a one of a kind or are there more out there?

yeah, its similar. check out the monkey island series and jurassic park. basically anything by telltale games is similar style of play.
