Okay, totally confused are borderlands and borderlands 2 completely seperate games?

I received the borderlands download for purchasing a year memebership to playstation online. I also purchased the 4 dlc's bundle "robot rev, Dr. neds zombies, Underdome and Gen Knoxx" is borderlands 2 a completely seperate game from what I have now? Are they two seperate vaults to open? I have been to the end of the borderlands I have, where you get to the vault and find out there is a big final boss monster to kill. Am I playing game 1 or 2 or is 2 just the 4 DLC's mentioned earlier?

Borderlands 2 is a completely different game. You're currently playing the first Borderlands, and the content you've mentioned is expansion content for the first Borderlands. Borderlands 2 is a new game, different from all of that.

your playing borderlands 1 and all the dlc is for that game. Game 2 has more indepth story line but still has some vault investigating.

same world different main characters and vault exploration. that being said they take place relatively around the same time period so you will encounter previous main characters.
