Although Lego based games were great. The newly announce Lego Rock Band, seems to take the "Lego version game" premise a little too far. But with original games like "Lego Battles" and the MMO "Lego Universe," I don't think we'll see the end of Lego games any time soon

With Lego Rock Band, they have gone to far, but in terms of Lego Universe, they are on the right path with the open ended world of an MMO that is based on Legos, that is a stellar idea but other than that, they have no need to make any IPs into a Lego form.

From a business standpoint, it's easy to see why they are doing this. Children are moving away from past play mechanisms. I played with legos from the moment i could walk. Nowadays kids are being bombarded with digital solutions to playtime. Lego is simply looking to increase it's audience as well as apeal to a larger, more modern audience of children. Creating LEGO brand games is just them looking out for themselves. They have been trying to do more things with Lego products for decades, this is just their response to the time. Is it a little much? Perhaps; but I feel like they need to do risky things like this to keep Lego a viable brand.

Lego Rock Band simply means they have gone overboard. Sure, a few Lego versions of Movie-based games is fine, but completely transforming a great game into a lego game? What's next, Lego Mario? Lego Halo? Lego Big Planet?

This one seems a little silly to me, I loved the Star Wars Lego games, Indiana was little disappointing, but what is the point of Lego Rock Band? I love lego's don't get me wrong, but I think they have gone to far with this one.

I unfortunately agree that these sort of games aren't going anywhere soon...With the new LEGO Rock Band, I'm left asking myself "Why?". In the past they slapped LEGO on different brands and made them more kid friendly, or family oriented but the thing is, Rock Band ALREADY is family oriented! What's the point of a LEGO Rock Band other than for the art style, and maybe "kiddie" song track lists. How is this not exactly what Activision has done with the Guitar Hero: We-dont-like-DLC plan?

Totally, and Lego Rock Band is the pinnacle of FAIL. I thought Indiana and Batman were cool concepts. Rock Band - HORRRRRRIBBBLLLEEEE. Make it go away.
