How do you use teleporters in Final Fantasy XIII?

I am trying to teleport back to the arcylyte steppe and just finished mission 1 and some other one. Do I have to walk back?

You need to finish a certain amount of missions to activate each one. So make sure you complete as many missions as possible, so you can activate all the teleporters as you find them.
