Q: How do you increase the levels of your roles in the Crystarium (Final Fantasy XIII)?

How do you increase the levels of your roles in the Crystarium (Final Fantasy XIII)?

I recently unlocked the Crystarium in FFXIII, and I've been gaining and spending CP, and I've maxed out a few characters' level 1 roles. However, I can't figure out how to level these up so I can continue spending CP on a role. I also consulted the manual and didn't find an explanation (unless I'm just blind). How do you do this? Am I just not far enough in the game to be able to (currently in the Lake Bresha area)?

You just need to keep battling enemies and eventually you'll unlock additional tiers and even new ability tracks. (Sounds like you're pretty close to when that happens.)
