Final Fantasy series is a personal favorite. We'll just say Final Fantasy VII for the sake of argument. Nobuo Uematsu is a master.

a bunch of epics: lord of shadows was really well done one of my faves here's a small list i came up with:
skyrim(epic)
assassins creed 2
the first fable
fallout 3 (pip boy)
there are ton's more but you get the point.

That's a pretty tough call. I guess I'll just list a couple of games I wouldn't mind listening to on my iPod.

Super Mario Galaxy 2's music is probably the best in the Mario franchise. I'm beginning to love orchestrated music durring the past couple of years, and SMG2's main theme is nearly uncomparable to anything. The original Super Mario Bros. theme might, but even that gets repetitive.

Now I never played this game, but I've heard some of its songs. Terminator 2 on Sega CD has epic music along with my favorite video game song "Taking it to the Air".

The Legend of Zelda theme is probably the most beloved soundtracks of all-time. There's just no way to hate the main theme. Classic.

The Castlevania series is always one to impress in the sound department. The background music is extremely fitting for the fun you endure in the games.

I realize I'm forgeting a lot, but this is all I can think of right now.
