Sun guy hates me! How do I fix this?

So I was playing Dark Souls, and this jackass decides to invade my game. While trying to fend him off I accidentally attacked the sun guy who stands on that balcony staring at the sun and who gives you that summon sign thing (you know the guy). Now he hates me. Is there any way to make him like me again? Also, does this interfere with me joining the sun warriors covenant? Because I really want to join them.

Yeah, that's why I play offline. Although I love killing invaders. Anyway, you won't be able to join the Covenant until you pay restitution (a crazy huge amount of souls) to the priest guy up in the tower that's unlocked once you kill the two Gargoyles. I did that once to the Giant Blacksmith trying to get away from those f-ing albino gargoyles.

To get him to like you just absolve your sins with the priest at the top of the bell tower (however i don't think Solaire will help with that fight if he is pissed), you will still be able to join the covenant through the broken sun statue that is next to the bonfire on the Red drake's bridge as long as your faith is 25(-10 for every boss you help someone kill). i know this be cause i will sometimes kill him for his armor to get an early boost.
