My cousin (who is 13) still plays pokemon and i was just wondering if i should tell him to move on to more mature games or if pokemon is still okay to play at that age.

I'm going to be 25 this year and I still purchase and play just about every Pokemon game, and have several friends around my age who dothe same. Age has nothing to do with anything, let your cousin play the games he wants. Pokemon games are fine for all ages. I like "mature" games as well, even though that's kind of an irrelevant point, it seems important to you, so yes, I have several M-rated games in my collection, and play M-rated titles regularly but that doesn't stop me from enjoying games of other ratings and types. It shouldn't stop you or your cousin, either. There are a lot of great games out there, they don't all have to be gray-tinted first person shooters.

Well, the average life expectancy in the United States is 78.5 according to some site I just looked at real quick, so assuming that is correct, I suppose the proper age on average to quit playing is 78.5. If something is fun for someone they should be able to continue to do it regardless of any perceived age where it stops being acceptable. Your cousin should continue to play what he wants. You can give him the option to play something more "mature" but if he doesn't want to he shouldn't be forced. And if he does try it and like it, there's no reason he can't continue to play Pokemon too.

Pokemon is okay to play at any age. It's a timeless game. Stop trying to play mom and make the kid 'grow up' I'm 25 and I'm still playing games like Pokemon.

I am in my 30 and I still play rated E. as of for everyone or E 10 something like that Everyone over 10. And I play mature games with blood and bad words. And sometimes I need a break to play something less violent and not all the blood and gore.

Yes you should. Now while i used to play the old pokemon on the nintendo the original pokemon till i was older now adays it is a little kiddie. I would say the proper time to quit pokemon is around jr high school which is around 7th or 8th grade

i still know people who play pokemon including myself. if your cousin is entertined by it and if it still makes him happy, just let him enjoy the game. if he will listen to u, u should try t recommend other games like halo or gears of war. those games are very popular and easy to pick up and play. also left 4 dead 1 or 2. those games build good teamwork. if he still likes more kid friendly games and if u have xbox i would recommned viva pinata or forza. if ps3 littlebig planet

I don't see anything wrong with it. I'm in college and I have friends my age who play it. Honestly, it's more of a matter of taste than age. Some people just like that genre. Pokemon is a series that has aged very gracefully, and I'd rather play it than some of the not-so-good strategy games out there.

Those who judge forget what Jesus did in his crusifixion as he rose up to heaven. He showed the world that he didn't care what happened, because he believed in himself. And he is now at the right hand of the father. I won't tell you how old I am, but my friends think I should stop it with Pokemon. I don't care if all of my friends leave me because of it. It's not a crime to like what you like. So the proper age to quit is 8 years old. Never let him stop just because of everyone else. He can like what he wants and no one can tell him otherwise.
