don't own a ps3 but the Xbox is the same version, i lost like a month to es oblivion and your right it is interesting, the story's great, the gameplay is a little dated but still epic, you can't go wrong with oblivion, just clear a week or two to play it, also you will like it if you can look past the fact that it's getting close to being a decade old.
