How do I beat Lazarevic in Uncharted 2?

So I'm at the part in the game where I've come down from the temple and Lazarevic drinks from the pool of sap that makes him strong and heals his wounds.

So I've figured out that if I shoot the branches of Sap when he is by them it hurts him, is that all there is to it? I feel like I'm close to killing him but I keep running out of bullets.

Is there something else I'm missing?

No, sounds like you are close to beating him. He'll always follow behind you passing by the explosive blue sap, which you have to shoot when he's close. Once he starts throwing five grenades at a time at you, then you are near the end of the fight. Now throw your grenades and keep moving. No real trick just gotta be patient and keep moving.
