Okay with Soap dying, I wasn't to thrilled about that. I think it happened way to soon in the game, I mean this guy survived the MW 1 & 2 endings! But God forbid he falls out of a building and dies. Plus he had multiple things slowing him down and he fell, he had things breaking his fall, Yuri didn't he should've died. I think Soap should've took Yuri's place beside Price at the end of the game.
Now with Commander Shepard, that was so poorly done. And I understand that with epic series like Mass Effect it's like a rule to kill off your hero, but come on make it something memorable! Make Shepard die fighting 50 Reapers, 100 husks, 50 geth troopers, and 3 dragons from Skyrim all at once! Or have him pull an I am Legend and run into a group of Reapers with a live grenade! They should've left us speechless in a good way, not the dissapointment that we got.

I think the game delvs, and writers just don't wanna get stuck making the same game with the same toons over and over again. Easy fix kill the bastards.

But I can understand why they have to die. When I write a story im happy with I always kill off the protagonist, and the antagonist. Like I said the more you build on something the futher you dig yourself. Plus it prevents people from adding on to your stuff 2-30 years later.

Heroes die. That's a fact. But if you want to get deep about it just look at History, Literature and Mythology. For example, much Folklore around the world contains heroes that die and then are resurrected as stronger versions of themselves. In the Christian religion the Messiah must die in order to come back as a more powerful being. Sacrifice is a very strong theme in our Culture. The capacity to believe in something so much that you are willing to give your life for it is precisely what makes someone a Hero. The best kind of Hero.

well it sucks that john shepard dies in mass effect 3 because they could have made another one. if they do it should be like your a relative of shepards (son brrother nephew) so it would be interesting

Defiantly Gaz in CoD 4. Or Bowman/ Reznof/ Woods in Black Ops, well actually if you went to E3 2012 you would know Woods survives and takes his side by mason again in BO 2.

One of the reasons for that is because they can't hire the voice actor for another game so they kill off that character. Also FYI you might want to put spoilers in your title. You pissed off a couple people here.

Deaths ruin storylines but can also make the story better and i can be ignoying if t happens in every sequel
