Well there is Coop, which is online and split screen. There is versus, which i didnt try out, but i assume its quite obvious what it is. And then there is Extraction. And that mode is confusing, but i figured it out. If you preordered Army of Two 40th Day you got a code. That code enables Extraction. And Extraction is basically Horde on Gears of War. But i couldnt try it out, because i didnt preorder it.
