How do you get through the Black Throne puzzle in Darksiders ?

I am trying to do is destroy a red block over a portal, but I cannot figure out how to get a bomb up there to destroy it.

activate portal with plate on floor in front, then step on plate to raise, next run to the bombs activate portal there throw bomb thru then jump in
