I would have preferred traditional controls instead of motion gestures. When the controls work they work well. However, at times the pointer gets out of alignment from where you are pointing to on screen. There is a quick fix by simply pressing down on the D pad to realign the pointer. That doesn't always work as nice as it should. And the fact is the pointer getting out of alignments can happen at very inconvenient times.

The other negative about the motion controls is needing to point the Wiimote straight up to charge your sword. I had some trouble with that always working consistently as well.

Unless I am playing a Wii Sports type game, I am not a fan of motion controls. Nintendo did a fairly decent job with Skyward Sword. It could have been much worse.

One drawback here is if you're left handed. There is no option to swap the controls for lefties. I find that rather odd considering that Link has always been a southpaw, at least until this game.
