Silent hill world....Dead space was scary as hell. Plus I don't think I would be a normal silent hill idiot. Instead of picking up crappy pipes and bashing things with light stands I would make some cool dead rising weapons.
And screw solving mysteries (I never understood that) I would make some kind fortress like in I am Legend. Not to mention If I got cornered I would attempt to burn down the entire town.

No way in hell I would pick dead space. I have no problem saying I would just hide in corner and Isaac would probably find my body.

This is a trick question. To be a resident in either of those places you need to be dead, therefore you can't "live" there.
If you are alive you are trying to get the heck out before you do become a resident.
If I had to pick I would go with the space ship, the town is in hell so it wouldn't be a good place to live. At least the ship still has some resemblance of life to it.
