Is there anyone that feels that skyrim isn't a big step up from oblivion?

I feel it was a huge step up. The map feels bigger, and the quest feel never ending. The addition of deathblows, and the revamped casting system makes combat a lot more fun.
There is also a feeling of randomness every time you strike out into the wilds. With Dragon, giants, vampires, bandits, and all kinds of creatures its easy to wander the land for hours doing nothing at all.
Crafting, and enchanting can be addictive. Shouts are flat out cool, and they can change the game play considerably. I mean seriously skyrim really redefines what a single player experience is supposed to feel like.

I want to look at your question objectively.
Lets throw gameplay, story, combat system, UI and everything else out the window here. Lets just look at the genre and their concepts and the game scope.
Literally when you are the only studio in the world who makes a game like this. Meaning you can't look at someone else and see how they do it differently. At some point aren't you just refining til you get it right?
ES games are ahead of their time. We still live in a world where people care more about particle effects then they do believable game worlds. So in all honesty I see alot of refinements in this game that weren't in oblivion. The game world logic is better, there is more that goes on in the world, weather systems are more organic, there is a list of things I can point out.
Bethesda isn't making a video game, they are making a virtual world, go play any AAA game this year and come back to skyrim and I dare you to tell me you don't see the difference.

Everyone I've talked to about Skyrim ststed that it was a great game that topped the seemingly untoppable. I believe the reason for this feeling could be that expectations were a bit high for you and it didn't meet your means (if that's even possible.) Try to play a bit more of it and you'll find it a bit bigger than expected.

well theyve definitly fixed third person view its alot better in skyrim graphics are abit better fighting is abit better hits are more realistic then in oblivion and by that i mean when a weapon hits u it usually hasta actually hit u the perks are a huge step up but u dont think they should have taken away nso many skills like acrobatics and speed

I feel that same thing, BUT, It also is because of the different level up system. You dont have to pick a set of major skills. Instead every skill that you increase counts toward you leveling up. When I first started playing, I was disappointed because I loved Oblivion so much. After playing for a while, Skyrim grew on me. I also think that since I have replayed Oblivion so much, I can't seem to find the same value in Skyrim, I find myself just trying to beat it and get the trophies instead.
Oblivion was before the trophies on PS3 so it gave me a reason to play besides just aiming for the trophies. (Trophies have ruined all game's values for me. I just play for the trophies instead of the game now) :( It sucks its like a drug.

Interesting to read from someone who doesn't simply worship this game. I've finished the game twice already and I'm on my third playthrough and I would like to know what you think is wrong with the game. It is very similar to Oblivion but with minor improvements. For example Lockpicking is much improved and more fun in Skyrim. I'm interested to know what you would have seen differently.

Skyrim is most deffinently a step up from Oblivion. Since I've played both, Oblivion looks like a foot note compared to Skyrim.
