The post I made and the contributors are all tips you should know going into skyrim.
The best additional tip I could give you is to not spread yourself to thin amongst the different skill trees, try not to lvl passed 50 if you want a somewhat challenging game and change the difficulty when it gets to easy to keep it engaging.
You can't play the game wrong so don't worry too much about classes, if you want more info I would look into the Skyrim wiki and check out character bonus, so you can pick the character type that most fits your ideal character.
For example if you want a thf ranger as a main, it wouldn't be ideal to pick a race built more for tanking. There is just too much to say about skyrim, the wiki is going to be your best source for comprehensive information.
