I mean they did kind of kill off any hints of a future one because of the end, but just like Bioshock: Infinity (instead of underwater they are now in the sky), could they make a new one with a different storyline. I know they kind of milked the series dry, but I just want to know if there's hope for a new one.

I think the answer to this question is Resistance Retribution and Resistance Burning Skies.
What I mean by that is by the time you get to the third installment of a game you hit a wall where if you really can't push something forward you have to reboot/start over, just like Halo is doing with Halo 4 by starting over with a new story.
The fact is when PS4 comes out Resistance won't be the big name that Sony will care about or spend lots to market. Its not because the games aren't good, its just the simple logic of attracting people to the new by offering something new. Add the fact that new franchises are almost always exclusively launched on new platforms and you got a picture of why Resistance won't matter much more.
However I think it will have a thriving home on Vita. I have a feeling Uncharted and Resistance along with LBP will all become Vita franchises and Sony will invest in new IP's for PS4.
