I actually had no idea shepard could really die in mass effect 2. I had heard some people say that but I thought they were joking. The worst thing that happened to me my 5 times playing the game all the way though was I lost Garrus when I put him on hacking the door. Other than that everyone got out including ship personel.

ive never lost my shepard. once, i lost garrus, jack, and tali. i was heartbroken. now whenever i play i make sure i do everything available in the game

I only lost any of my crew members during my first playthrough. After that I never lost any of my team ever again but I never let my Shepard die.
