There are a few concepts you should learn regarding this issue.
If you don't like it don't buy or play the game. This might sound like a knock at you but its not. As a consumer it is your responsibility to let your voice be heard in the only real way possible which is to not invest time or money in a product you feel doesn't meet your expectations.
Game developers believe money should be made on a product based not on the unit sold but by the individual who is playing it. This is a mixed bag because companies like gamestop and gamefly make money off other peoples products, but at the same time, the publisher has already sold that copy of a game.
However the real issue you need to look at is this. Games are expensive. Many employees and equipment need to be invested in, in order to create content that you love. You can either accept this fact and enjoy the games you love while putting some more money into publisher pockets. Or opt out and miss many great gaming experiences.
