What if the 3 companies came together?

(Note: This is not to be taken seriously. It's just a fun little topic.)
Gaming would definetly be a better place with no more fanboy wars. There'd also be a great thing for companies, because companies won't go banktrupt. It would probably be the world's greatest console with all combined games. Every feature would be implemented and would in turn the perfect game system. It's a good little fantasy.

hey that would be great then McDonald,burger king and subway could unite and conquer the global fast food market,shortly followed by walmart,target and game stop banding together to form a colorful giant robot that saves you money weather you like it or not,the only thing is with all these groups joining together is, what do we do when they don't want to budge on something? where would we go from there? atari or indie,it does sound cool but they would be the only source for our games and could jack up the cost and stiff us on the great titles,keep competition

If the big 3 console makers merged first you would see a massive layoff. There would be no need for so many redundant jobs. Next innovation would come to a stand still. What incentive would a single company have to develop something new, special, and groundbreaking? They wouldn't need to as gamers would have to buy whatever they made. Next you would see prices climb. With no competition, the Big 1 could charge whatever it felt like.
The main problem with your theory is that it eliminates competition. Competition boosts productivity, innovation, customer service, and product quality while lowering prices for the consumer.

Without getting into great detail...
Fanboy wars would be at an all time high from people trying to justify why their franchise is still better.
The system would be the worst because without competition there would be no innovation.
And it would be two companies as Microsoft themselves doesn't really make games.

That would be awsome they all could relese a systom that plays PS3, Xbox 360 games, and Wii (Wii U) games.

Well, I don't think Nintendo can bring anything new, Sony and Microsoft would be amazing. But I still think a Bethesda and BioWare collaboration would be amazing,
