I do agree about Crash Bandicoot. I'll never give up on him but I hope that the next game would learn from the mistakes of Titans and Mutants. Though I don't consider him a fad of gaming.
I would say graphics. In like 10 years people will care soley on the important things about gaming. That's Gameplay, funfactor, etc. I say this because to my knowledge, I believe HD 1080p just might be as good as it's ever gonna get. And once all companies have the same graphics, who's gonna care. Grant it, graphics could get better and thus rises more fuel for the console war; but these graphics are so good that they just might not get much better.

I agree with Bajeet, motion controls.

Along with this, Music video games. Remember in 2009 how crazy people were about Rock Band and Guitar Hero? Now RB is struggling to stay afloat and Guitar Hero went under.

This might happen with Call of Duty if Activision milks this thing too much aswell.
