I can understand why you picked Deus Ex HR, its the first game in a very long time that I personally wanted to play through again right after finishing the first time. I complete many games. So the fact I wanted to do that is a huge surprise to me.
I would still have to give it to FFIII for the SNES though. I could always go back to that game and have a blast. That is probably my all time favorite game and the way game development is going the only games that might trump it are dark souls and skyrim which have yet to be released.

Best single player game? Metal Gear Solid, done, sold. That series is AMAZING! Once you start with Metal Gear Solid, you're going to want to play the second, then the third, then the epic and amazing conclusion of the 4th and once it's all said and done, after experiencing a vast amount of different emotions while playing, you'll lean back in your chair and the only word you'll be able to even think about is "Wow...."
The Metal Gear series is my favorite series and I'd recommend it to anyone! Seriously the single player experience is......ridiculous. The plot, characters, and everything that went into each game is baffling.
But other than that, I'd recommend Heavy Rain, God of War, Assassins Creed, or Dynasty Warriors 7 <----the better DW game that tells the historical story more brilliantly especially if you're into history related games like Assassins Creed then you will like Dynasty Warriors. I could go on but I think these titles/series stand out for themselves =)

I would have to go with the most revolutionary game in existence, the game that introduced the 3D aspect to the world AND got it right, and above all one of the best games in history in my opinion: Super Mario 64.

Hmm, I was going to initially say Halo: Combat Evolved, but instead I think i'm going with Heavy Rain.
Well, it's only Singleplayer, but it's SOOOOOOOOOOOO amazing.
I'm surprised how unknown that game is. I mean, it's not anonymous, but everybody should know about it.

For me it has to be Fallout 3, regardless of what many may think or say. I loved it, I enjoyed it, and to this day I still am putting hours into it in the vast wasteland to see if I missed anything.

Personally, I would choose Metroid Prime (SNES). It's not too much of an RPG to alienate itself and it's an amazing sequel that has a lot of action and a solid story.

just depends on what genre you like i'm more of a rpg guy so I say Oblivion you can play that thing for a year straight and still not do it all or see it all!! God of War 3 was also epic!!

FFVII. Fallout. Knights Of The Old Republic. Human Revolution will probably be on that list once I beat it. Couldn't really narrow it down anymore.
