Is this game anything like Xbox's Mechassult series?
I've played Mechassult ages ago and was wondering if this game is comparable to it.

I haven't played Mech Assault but judging from the gameplay videos I just looked up on youtube, you might like it. The only thing is that Armored Core is very fast paced. In order to do good in that game you have to be constantly on the move, flying around, and be able to fight mechs that are moving very fast. Staying on the ground will get you killed. It is definately something you have to get used to but it is a really fun game. I have never been able to do all the manuevers really fast like some of the hardcore players fight. The campaign is usually pretty hard (mostly because I of what I mentioned above) and don't even try multiplayer because you will get murdered. Even with all of this it is a really fun game. I have played every armored core since Armored Core 3 and it never gets old. There is a MASSIVE amount of customization. You get to build your mech from the ground up, paint it, make an emblem(at least in the last couple I've played, and even tune each individual part.

It is a mech game so there will be some similarities. If you like that kinda stuff definately rent it.

No its not like mech assuslt. Armored Core if a fast paced mech shooter that focuses more on customazation than gameplay. The gameplay can be reflex focused if you want to zip around the map at high speeds dodging bullets in a lighter mech or you are also given the option to become a walking tank with giant grenade launchers and plasma canons like I said its all about customizing.
I woulod warn you this not a game for the weak hearted.
