What kind of a question is this??! Its called a PREQUEL. Master Chief wasn't even around yet in halo reach. How could you be a halo fan and not even know these things!

No, Halo: Reach was a prequel. Meaning it happened before the trilogy of the othe Halo Games. Reach was an actual event in the Halo Universe.
