I would like to play Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but I have heard that the Deus Ex games are pretty story intensive. Would I have to start with the first, PC only game to appreciate the story, or could I go right into Human Revolution and pick the older ones up later?

Actually, Human Revolution is a prequel. So you should be just fine. Also, while the games themselves are story intensive, they're separate story arcs with completely different characters, so you can really play them in any order.
Also, the first Deus Ex was also ported to PS2. And Invisible War was on Xbox as well as PC. So they actually did all make it to consoles.
