Does this require special controllers or...?

Does this game require guitars, drum kits, etc? Or can I simply use my Microphone to sing & my regular controller to surf the game menu?

No you need the guitars and things i have it and have tryed to use a controller. It wont work.Good thing i have the band kit. Only around 50 dollars but then you may as well get the game.
