Excited would be low balling it for me. I played both Deus EX games to completion. The first one was amazing for its time and complexity of its story.
The idea was they took every type of conspiracy you can think of at the time like the FEMA take over and Men in Black and Illuminati and formed a somewhat coherent story that can be followed at some level. It was very ambitious for its time and offered different ways to handle situations. You could even kill off story based NPC's and change the direction of the story.
The second title was basically taking everything that was was good about the first game, put it in a dark closet and chain up the door. And start making the sequel. The developers must have been told if you hear something its not screaming in the closet, remember that if you want to have a job next week. The game was that awful.
As far as the new one goes, I expect great things from it as a prequel to the first title.
