CoD as a full suite of multiplayer options, you can make a 1 on 1 game online if you want two player online. If what you really mean and didn't word your question one bit in this way is can you and a buddy go online at the same time and play multiplayer split screen, no there is no option in CoD for that.

if you mean split screen online, then i would defiantly expect it in MW3. CoD is the kind of game series that never backtracks changes it makes. i would be amazed if there wasn't.
